Behind-the-scenes content for a small business: what to film in a normal week

Customers like to see how things are made and who makes them. You do not need a special day for it. Here is what to film in a normal week, and how.

Customers like to see how things are made and who makes them. The coffee before opening, the dough at six in the morning, the colour mixed for one client: that is content nobody else in your street can post, because it is yours.

You do not need a special day for it. This guide lists what to film in a normal working week, how to film it on a phone, and what to keep off camera.

Why it works

  • It shows people, not offers. Behind-the-scenes posts make a business feel familiar before the first visit.
  • It is easy to keep up. The work happens anyway; you only film it.
  • It feeds the rest of the plan. Ten seconds of real work can open a reel, sit between two offer posts or go into a story.

For the formats themselves, see our guide to reels for local business.

How to film it on a phone

  • Clean the lens. The single most common reason for blurry phone footage.
  • Hold it vertical and steady. Lean on a wall or a shelf, or use a small tripod.
  • Film near a window. Daylight from the side beats overhead lights.
  • Shoot short. Clips of 3–5 seconds, several angles of the same action: wide, close, hands.
  • Record sound, edit it later. The sound of the grinder or the scissors is part of the story.

What to keep off camera

  • Customers' faces without consent; screens with names, bookings or prices of other clients.
  • Mess that looks like poor hygiene, even when it is normal for the job.
  • Team members who do not want to be filmed. Ask once, respect the answer, and film their hands instead if they agree.

Put it in the plan

Behind-the-scenes posts work best between other posts, not instead of them. A simple rhythm: one offer post, one behind-the-scenes post, one post about a person, then repeat. Our marketing calendar for Luxembourg helps you place them around the dates that matter.

When filming yourself does not happen

Most owners mean to film every week and then the week happens. If the phone stays in the pocket, one planned day with a professional gives you a month of material that looks better than you could film between customers. Have a content day filmed by Lux Photo Pro: they film your normal day and hand over clips and photos ready to post.

If you want the posts, the plan and the publishing done for you as well, see content and shoots with COEVO and the prices.
